Night City's fixers look for people for work the job center doesn't advertise: steal a car, deliver a parcel, search a stash, steal a corporation's data. You take gigs on your phone, in the “Orders” app. The better you work for a fixer, the higher your reputation with them and the better-paid the work they trust you with.
#How to take a gig
- Take out your phone (↑) and open “Orders”. The “Fixers” list shows who already works with you, and a locked one says what's needed: “Reach level N” or “Build your reputation first”.
- Pick a fixer: their page shows “Reputation N”, how far it is to the next level and the gigs they offer right now, with the pay.
- Press “Take the gig”. The gig's card appears on screen, and a marker in the world shows where to go.
- Do what the card says. When the gig is done, “Gig done: ... · +N €$” and “Reputation +N” come.
- The pay goes to your bank account.
- One gig at a time. While one is on, you can't take another: “You have a gig already”.
- Time. A gig has 30 minutes: then “The gig's time ran out”. You can give it up on its card: “Give up the gig”.
- Fixers write to you. When a fixer starts working with you and when they have work, they send a text to “Messages”.
#Who can
- From character level 2. Mr. Hands and Rogue work only with the experienced: see the table below.
- Not a new character. Fixers don't trust a newcomer yet: “New in the city: the fixers don't trust you yet”.
- Not on duty. While you're on duty in a faction, you can't take gigs: “Not while you're on duty”.
- No more than 3 gigs an hour and 10 a day. After every gig the fixer needs a breather: from 15 minutes after a simple gig up to 45 after the best-paid one.

#Kinds of gigs
#Transport job
El Capitan and Rogue order cars.
- “Steal the car”: the marker leads to a locked car by the road.
- Walk up to it and press E: “Break the lock”. The “Breach protocol” opens: the same puzzle as at an ATM.
- “The lock is open: the car is yours to drive”. Only you can drive it.
- “Drive it to the chop shop on the map” and leave the car there: “The car is in: wait for the payout”.
- The pay depends on the car's condition. An intact car earns the whole sum, a damaged one less, but never under 40%.
- The alarm. If the lock doesn't give, “The lock held and the alarm went off: the police are coming”.
- The police follow it. The police on duty get a stolen car report with the car's plate, and its marker on the map updates for 5 minutes. Meanwhile your card says “The police are tracing the car”. For tier 3 gigs and up the fixer's car comes with a jammer already: it can't be traced.
- The car gone (blown up, sunk, stolen from you): “The car is gone: the gig failed”.
#Hot parcel
- “Take the parcel”: walk up to the first marker and press E: “Pick up the parcel”.
- “Deliver the parcel”: the card shows the time, 8 minutes.
- At the second marker press E: “Leave the parcel”.
- 3 minutes in the police get an anonymous tip about a suspicious courier in the district.
- The parcel is carried in your hands: you can't take it into a home (“You can't go home carrying this”). If you're knocked out, it falls: “You dropped the cargo. Pick it back up before the police do”. Only you can pick it up.
- The police can seize the parcel, and then the gig fails: “The police seized the cargo: the gig failed”.
#Smuggler's stash
Dakota Smith and Mr. Hands know where other people's stashes lie in the Badlands.
- “Find the stash: the scanner leads you in”. The marker leads to the search area, and on the card the “Scanner” shows how far the stash is.
- Find the stash and press E by it: “Search the stash”. The search takes a few seconds, and stepping away stops it.
- The stash holds cash and 8 to 16 weapon materials.
Weapon materials are illegal: the police seize them in a search. What they're made into: see The workshop.
#Data heist
A data heist needs a cyberdeck in your pockets: “You need a cyberdeck for this: the ripperdocs sell them”.
- “Breach the access point”: the marker leads to a corporation's building.
- At the access point press E: “Connect”, and solve the “Breach protocol”. No luck: “The breach failed: try again”.
- “You're in: the download has started”. Stay at the access point for a minute: “Stay at the access point: N s”. Walking away stops the download.
- “The chip is yours”: carry it to the fixer's dead drop and press E there: “Hand over the chip”.
15 seconds into the download the corporation's security raises the alarm: “The corp's security got the alarm: finish and go”, and the police on duty get a call about a breach in the district.
#The pay
| Gig tier | Transport job | Hot parcel | Smuggler's stash | Data heist |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 2,300 €$ | 1,800 €$ | 2,000 €$ | 2,200 €$ |
| 2 | 4,025 €$ | 3,150 €$ | 3,500 €$ | 3,850 €$ |
| 3 | 6,325 €$ | 4,950 €$ | 5,500 €$ | 6,050 €$ |
| 4 | 9,200 €$ | 7,200 €$ | 8,000 €$ | 8,800 €$ |
For a transport job that's the price of an intact car, and a stash holds materials besides the cash.
#Reputation
- Each fixer's own. Your reputation with a fixer goes from 1 to 10, and only their own gigs raise it.
- What a gig gives. A tier 1 gig brings 40 reputation points, tier 2 70, tier 3 110, tier 4 160. A gig given up or failed takes away 20.
- Levels. Reputation level 2 starts at 100 points, then 250, 450, 700, 1,000, 1,400, 1,900, 2,500, and level 10 at 3,200.
- What it opens. From reputation level 1 a fixer gives tier 1 gigs, from level 3 tier 2, from level 5 tier 3, and from level 8 the best-paid ones, tier 4. Dakota Smith gives gigs up to tier 3.
- A name in the city. Mr. Hands and Rogue look at your reputation with all fixers together: 600 and 1,500 points.
#For the police
- A car theft. The police on duty get a “Stolen car report”: the car's model and plate, and the stolen car's marker updates on the map for 5 minutes.
- A parcel. “Anonymous tip: a courier near ...”: the parcel can be found and seized. A seized parcel fails the gig.
- A data heist. “Corporate security: a breach near ...”.
- Car theft, carrying contraband and hacking are illegal: you can be detained for them under the city's laws.
