Grenades

Gun shops sell the game's own grenades. A grenade goes into a slot of its own, and a throw doesn't spend the grenade itself but a charge: the server decides how many charges you have and how fast they come back.

  • The first eight are sold at all 14 gun shops, on the “Grenades” tab. Ozob's Nose only at the gun shop in Downtown.
  • Lethal grenades need a gun license. Flashbang, smoke and recon grenades are sold without one.
  • Damage at the center: how much health the blast takes at its very center. A character has 100 health.

#The grenade slot and charges

  1. Open your inventory (Tab) and press “Equip” on a grenade, or “Into the grenade slot” in the right-click menu. The grenade slot is to the right of the two weapon slots.
  2. Throw with the grenade key from the game's own settings: the grenade slot in the inventory shows it.
  3. Above the “Biomonitor” panel the “Grenade” card lights up: its picture, the key and the charges.
  • A throw doesn't use up the grenade, it spends a charge. You have 4 charges, and one comes back every 15 seconds.
  • You can only throw on foot. In a car, in a green zone and while unconscious, the grenade card dims and a throw won't happen.

#Damage

  • The server checks where a grenade went off and whom it hit. At the center a blast takes the grenade's full damage, and toward the edge of the radius it drops to 40%.
  • One blast hits no more than 8 people, each of them once.
  • An armor vest takes its share of the damage, as with a shot: see Combat and damage.
  • A blast doesn't hurt someone in a green zone or someone who has just left the hospital.
  • Blasts damage cars too. A frag grenade at the center takes about 9% of a car's condition, less toward the edge of the radius. A motorcycle takes twice as much, an armored car half as much, and an EMP grenade only about 2%. When the condition runs out, the car blows up.
  • A blast doesn't damage a car in a green zone. Nor does the grenade of someone who has stepped into a green zone by the time it goes off.

#Who sees what

Every player nearby sees the throw and the blast: in their game the grenade leaves the thrower's hands, flies and goes off in the same place as in the thrower's. The damage is counted by the server alone, so it's the same for everyone.
