N54 News (Network 54) is Night City's main news channel. Reporters go where things happen, and the newsroom checks and puts out the ads players post from their phones, and the breaking news. The studio is in the N54 building in Japantown, and its duty room sits right inside the hologram at the entrance.

#The ad desk
Players post ads in the phone's “Ads” app and pay to have them published. An ad waits for review in the “Newsroom” section, where N54 members on duty with the Ads permission can see it, from the Editor rank up.
- An editor opens the ad: it's reserved for them for 2 minutes from the first opening, and it can't be held longer, even if opened again. Other editors can see who's checking it. After that it has to be put out or turned down: “That ad was held already: put it out or turn it down”.
- The editor can fix the text and the category (unless the ad is linked to a car, a home or a business).
- “Put it on the air”: the ad runs for 24 hours, the editor gets 30% of the fee in cash and the rest goes to the N54 treasury. If the author is a new character (their first 120 minutes of play), there's no editor's share and the fee goes to the city.
- “Turn it down”: with a reason of at least 3 characters. The author gets their money back.
Editors can't review their own ads or the ads of their own other characters.
#When there are no editors
- With no editors on duty, an ad goes out by itself 150 seconds after it's posted.
- If there are editors on duty, an ad goes out by itself after 15 minutes at most, unless someone has it open.
- An ad that goes out by itself pays no editor's share: the whole fee goes to the treasury.

#Breaking news
A Reporter or higher on duty can put out breaking news: a line of 10 to 140 characters. It's free, reaches everyone as an “N54 · Breaking news” pop-up and stays at the top of the feed for 3 hours. Each staff member can put out one news line every 300 seconds at most.
#What else editors can do
An editor on duty can take an ad off the air, giving a reason. If it hasn't gone out yet, the author gets their money back.
