A promo code is a short code from a friend, a streamer or an event. Its reward comes at once, as soon as the server accepts it.
#Where to enter a code
- When you make a character. The first step has an optional “Promo code” field under the documents. The reward comes as soon as the character is made. If the code doesn't fit, the reason shows under the field: fix the code or clear it and go on, the other fields stay as they are. More on making a character on the Install and join the server page.
- With a chat command:
/promo code, for example/promo NEON2077. - On the “Character” tab of the main window (F1) while you're in the city: the “Promo code” card with a field for the code and an “Activate” button. The server's answer shows under the field.
A code is Latin letters and digits, and capital and small letters are the same: neon2077 and NEON2077 are one code.
#What a code gives
- Money to the bank account of the character who entered the code.
- Premium and NEO: they go to the account, like bought ones. More on the NEO and premium page.
- Items into the character's pockets.
The server says right away what the code gave: “Promo code NEON2077 activated: ...”.
#How many times a code works
- Once per account. Each code can be activated only once on an account, whichever character enters it.
- A term and a number of uses. A code may have an end date and a number of uses for everyone. Once the date has passed or the uses have run out, the server says so.
- Codes for new players work only in the first days after the account is made, and an account can activate only one such code.
- You can't activate your own code.
/promo without a code shows which promo codes you've activated.
#Invitation codes
The project's founders give some players a referral code of their own for inviting friends. If a newcomer enters such a code, both get a reward: the newcomer and the one who invited them. The reward comes once the newcomer has played the hours needed in the city: how many, their “Promo code” card on the “Character” tab says.
- When the reward has come, the server sends both a notice. The one who invited sees: “Player ..., invited with your code ..., has played the time needed”.
- Your own invitation code shows on the “Promo code” card and with
/promo: how many players came with it, how many have counted already, how many are still playing and how much you've got in all.
