The city's police: always short of money, people and gear. Plenty of officers stopped caring long ago, but some still believe the badge means something. Night Corp is its official sponsor, yet the department has to keep Arasaka and Militech happy. Its elite MaxTac division hunts cyberpsychos.
On the server the police have three precincts, in Little China, The Glen and Arroyo, each with a duty room and cells, and barriers, floodlights, a podium with a tablet, the NCPD badge and locked police cars outside.

#Powers on duty
Everything you do to a person goes through the G menu while you're next to them. The police buttons only show up while you're on duty, and only if your rank has the permission for them.
| Action | How it works |
|---|---|
| Handcuffs | Put on instantly, from up to 2.6 m away. The person must be conscious, on their feet and not in a vehicle. Being cuffed takes away their weapon and cuts off any phone call |
| Lead | The detainee walks behind the officer. If they fall more than 3.8 m behind, the server pulls them back to the officer |
| Put into the car | Into your own car, a faction car or any unlocked car within 5 m, back seats first. The detainee can't get out on their own |
| Take out of the car | The officer pulls the detainee out and starts leading them right away |
| Fine | Up to 50,000 €$, within 6 m, with a reason. At most three fines to one player in 10 minutes. A fine clears the wanted level if your rank has the Wanted permission |
| Jail | Up to 60 minutes, only for a cuffed person and only near a precinct. The detainee goes to a cell at the nearest precinct |
| Wanted | 1 to 5 stars with a reason, set by the character's ID, even if they're offline |
| Trunk search | A player's locked car, if the owner is near (within 30 m of the car) or wanted. Items can only be confiscated: they go straight to the service's stash, and the owner gets a notification. Nothing can be taken from a new character's trunk in their first 120 minutes of play |
There's no way to search a person: you can't check a detainee's pockets.
#Wanted list and calls
- The wanted list is only visible to officers on duty: the “Faction” tab, “Wanted” section. It's sorted by the number of stars. The person who's wanted isn't told about it. A wanted level is cleared by hand, by jail time or by a fine from an officer with the Wanted permission.
- 911 calls go to every officer on duty. You can take a call, set a route to it and close it. A call expires after 30 minutes.
#Good to know
- Jail time only counts down while the prisoner is in the city. If they leave the game, the sentence waits for them.
- Handcuffs stay on after leaving the game and at the hospital. They come off when an officer removes them or when the person is put in jail.
- Nobody can hurt a detainee in cuffs. If they still go down, they come to at the hospital in the same cuffs and with the same wanted level, and the police on duty get a call: “A suspect in cuffs is at the hospital”.
- Only someone an officer jailed can be let out early. Someone jailed by the administration is let out only by the administration: trying it gets you the message “Your rank has no right to that”.
- Anything confiscated in a search goes straight to the service's stash, never into the officer's pockets. If the stash is full, the item can't be confiscated.
- An officer can't put their own other characters on the wanted list, clear them from it or let them out of jail: the game says “Not on your own other character”.
Rules for officers: Government faction rules. How all this looks from the detainee's side: Police and the law.
