#Getting started

#What do I need to play?

Cyberpunk 2077 and the Phantom Liberty expansion, both bought on Steam, plus the Neonesis launcher from neonesis-rp.ru. More on the Install and join the server page.

#Will the GOG or Epic Games Store version work?

Not yet: the server checks that you own the game and the expansion through Steam, so you need the Steam version.

#Do I have to pay to play on the server?

No. Neonesis RP is free: there's no subscription or paid access, you only need to buy the game itself.

#Why does joining ask for a code from an app?

Every account on the server is protected with a second factor. The first time you join, set up an authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, Bitwarden, Aegis or 2FAS) and save your backup codes. After that the code is asked only on a new computer and once every 30 days, or at every join if you turn off “Trust this PC”. More on the Install and join page.

#Can I play without a microphone?

Yes, but role-play on the server happens in voice. Without a mic you'll hear others, but you'll only be able to type in the general chat, which everyone sees.

#How do I change the language?

Click RU or EN in the title bar of any Neonesis window, or choose a language in the settings: F2, “Language” section.

#Can I change the keys?

Yes: F2, the “Settings” tab, the “Controls” card. That's also where you turn the on-screen key hints on or off. See the Key settings page.

#How many characters can I create?

Up to 3 per account. Each one has its own money, items, job and housing.

#Where do I get a phone?

From Rita by the Bank of Night City in Downtown, near the spawn point. Walk up to her and press E.

#Does the game save?

No, game saves are off on the server: the server keeps everything that's yours. There's no fast travel or pause either.

#How long is a day in the city?

Time in Night City runs 8 times faster than real time: a game day lasts 3 hours.

#Money and jobs

#How do I earn my first money?

Do the starter quests and get a job as a courier. Better-paid jobs open up after that: taxi driver, delivery driver, mechanic.

#How do I send money to a friend?

Ask for their bank card number or phone number and send the money at a bank branch, at an ATM or in the “Bank” app. The fee is 1%, and the money arrives at once. Cash is handed over nearby through the G menu. More on the Money and the bank page.

#Do I need a bank card?

Yes, unless you want to carry all your money on you. Without a card the ATMs and transfers from the phone don't work, and at a counter you can pay only in cash. You get a card at any branch of the bank for 300 €$.

#Why can't I send money to a friend?

A new character can only send money after 120 minutes of play; receiving works right away. In those minutes they can't hand things on either: not give them, trade them or throw them away. A transfer also won't go through past the daily limit, or to another character of your own.

#Is there unemployment pay or a daily reward?

No. Money comes from jobs, faction salaries, quests and businesses.

#Health and death

#What happens if my character is knocked out?

After 60 seconds they come to in the nearest clinic. A Trauma Team medic can get them back up sooner.

#Do I lose my items and money when I die?

No. You keep your money, items and weapons.

#Cars

#How many cars can I own?

Up to 5 per character. The free starter vehicle doesn't count toward that limit.

#Someone stole my car. How did that happen?

Anyone can start an unlocked car. Lock yours with L when you get out.

#Can I sell a car?

Not yet: neither to a dealership nor to another player. You can place a for-sale ad with N54, but you can't hand the car over.

#How do I call my car?

Open your phone (↑) and the “Garage” app. The car drives up to you by itself. It's free.

#How do I fill up my car?

Find the nearest gas station in the GPS, park at a pump, get out and press E at the pump. There are gas stations only in Santo Domingo and the Badlands, none in central Night City: keep an eye on your tank. If the tank runs dry on the road, a jerry can or a mechanic will help. More on the Fuel and gas stations page.

#Housing

#How do I buy an apartment?

Find one on your phone: the “Homes” app, “For sale” tab. Go to the door, look inside and buy it. The money comes from your bank account first, and whatever is missing in cash.

#Is there a tax on housing?

No. Only businesses pay a daily tax.

#People and factions

#Why does it say “Stranger” above people?

Names are hidden until people introduce themselves to each other. See the Acquaintances and names page.

#How do I join a faction?

Only by invitation from a faction member with permission to recruit. Find the faction in-game: go to its base, get to know its people, call the number in its ad.

#Why can't I talk in character in the general chat?

Everyone on the server sees the general chat, wherever they are. Your character speaks by voice and on the phone.

#Administration

#How do I report a player?

F3, a new report in the “Complaint” category. Give the player's number and attach a video. More on the Reports page.

#My character is stuck or fell through the ground

If you fell under the map, the server moves you back to a safe spot by itself. If you're stuck anywhere else, write a report in the “Bug” category.
